The last few years have been a dream come true. We opened St. Michael’s Episcopal Day School in 2010 and have built a program we are proud to present to the community. The children are happy and well cared for, and the feedback we have received has been stellar.
Our Reggio Emilia-inspired curriculum allows our students to thrive, and we have witnessed the success of the play-based principles we follow. To that end, our plans to extend our playground area are in progress due to a grant, and we are very excited to see the final results later this year.
We have more dreams for our school, and we need your help.
In order to stay competitive in the Austin marketplace, we keep our tuition costs on par with other local schools. This covers 93% of our actual operating costs, and we rely on donations from parents and the community to make up the rest. We are so pleased that we have made our operating budget with the help of those donations for the last year.
Our goal is to not merely cover operating costs, but to enhance our children’s experience by growing a library, theme boxes, and manipulatives. Theme boxes contain a collection of items in a particular theme (animals, for example) from which our kids can learn. Manipulatives include things like puzzles and hands-on experiential activities. These resources would be available to and shared by all classes. We also hope to offer our top-notch staff more educational opportunities, which would help us show our appreciation for our highly-educated teachers and teachers’ assistants.
Here’s a few ways you can help:
- By contributing to our annual fund-raising events, such as the annual campaign and yard sale. We will keep you posted on the details closer to the dates of the events.
- Bookmarking your web browser with our Amazon affiliate link (click on the Amazon logo at the bottom right). Every purchase you make via Amazon gives 2-6% back to the school.
- Setting up a monthly deduction for a regular donation. All gifts may be paid at once, pledged in installments, or deferred to later in the school year.
- Becoming lead partners in helping us obtain our financial goals. We are currently exploring opportunities for this and will keep you updated.
This year’s fundraising goal is $6000, with a stretch goal of another $2000 to purchase the enhancements listed above. We look forward to working together with you to achieve it. You will be able to easily track our progress with the on-site thermometer and updates on the web site. And if we reach the full $8000, we’ll celebrate with a pizza party for lunch with all of the kids at school!
We request all pledges by the end of the fall semester. All gifts may be paid at once, pledged in installments, or deferred to later in the school year. For assistance in making a donation of any kind, please contact School Director, Rebecca Hope by phone at 512-327-0591 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org
We are hoping for 100% participation; every dollar counts. It’s a commitment to our school, and to our community. Together, we are shaping these wonderful children. Thank you in advance for all of your help and support. We’re happy to have you as part of the St. Michael’s family!
