Our 3 year old program provides diverse hands-on materials in a print-rich, light-filled environment. Following the Reggio Emilia approach, emphasis is placed on child-initiated projects with teachers stimulating development by changing the environment to meet the needs of individual and small group skills development. Empowered by a sense of wonder, threes spend a lot of time watching, observing and imitating. Rich exploration of art, science, math and language concepts is encouraged and sustained. Language development is rapid and the integration of math, science and dramatic play help threes make sense of the world around them.
Since threes are interested in perfecting gross motor skills, music and movement is offered weekly. Fine motor skills are practiced in the Block and Manipulative Centers. Above all, the social and emotional skills necessary to sustain friendships and develop a community of learners are constantly practiced.
