We are excited to announce St. Michael’s Episcopal Day School’s first Open House.
The Open House will be held on June 10th in our preschool classrooms, from 11am – 12:30pm.
We are throwing open our doors to the community for a lunchtime play date. Please feel free to bring your children and your children’s friends – the more the merrier!
As an introduction to our school and the Reggio Emilia philosophy on which our curriculum is based, we are going to have several fun and interactive activities for the children. We will have stations both inside and outside that will highlight several of our school’s values and modes of learning.
In addition, you will have a chance to view the St. Michael’s campus, spend time in our classrooms, and learn more about our program. Our director will be on hand to present information about the school and answer questions. Many of our school board members will also be in attendance, as well as the Rector for St. Michael’s – Robby Vickery.
For more information, please contact our director at 512-327-0591.
While getting the word out to families in the Austin area about St. Michael’s Episcopal Day School and the available spaces in the Threes and Fours classes, we heard one request over and over again: will you please add a Twos class or a Parent’s Day Out program?
Yes we can, and yes we did!
We are pleased to announce the addition of a Parents’ Day Out program to the offerings at St. Michael’s Episcopal Day School!
The Parents’ Day Out program is for two year olds (Twos). It is a two-day program offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9am – 1pm. We’ve had some Twos register already; but there is still room for several more Twos.
Visit our Parents’ Day Out pages for more information.
Whether you want to know more or are ready to sign up, just call our Director at 327-0591. You may also email her at director at stmichaelsdayschool.org

Through dozens of meetings and late-night paperwork, the team kept their spirits high. The St. Michael’s community is proud of:

- Marcia Elm
- Deirdre Kilgard
- Kathy Lapsys
- Betsy MacDonald
- Jessie Quance
- Erika Tabke

Next time you see one of the Task Force members, please take a moment to say thanks.
The St. Michael’s fundraiser book sale was a success! The Day School team worked hard to get ready for the sale, and the community responded. Thank you for coming to the sale and supporting our new school.
In addition to books, the fundraiser offered Melissa & Doug toys, puzzles, games and baked goods for sale. Several last-minute Christmas shoppers came by and picked up gifts for family and friends. One woman even snapped up some of the baked goods to take to a Holiday party being held that evening.
Emma Virjan, a local children’s book author, came by to read and sign her book Nacho the Party Puppy. Her four-foot tall cutout of Nacho helped set the fun atmosphere, and Ms. Virjan shared Nacho stickers and coloring pages with the children.
The St. Michael’s Day School team learned a great deal from their first fundraising effort — most importantly, that the community is excited and ready to help support the school.
St. Michael’s is hosting an incredible children’s book fair.
Books * Melissa and Doug toys * Bake Sale * Giftwrapping * Story Hour
Saturday, December 12th, from 10am – 6pm
Our Children’s Book Fair is coming up on December 12th, 2009. We have hand-picked the most wonderful children’s books and are able to make them available to you in time for Christmas. This is a fundraiser for our preschool, which will be opening in 2010.
The book fair is not only a great place to get some early Christmas shopping done, but it is a fun place to bring the kids for a few hours on a Saturday.
In addition to books, we will have baked goods for sale and giftwrapping will be available.
There will be story time for the children every hour.
Please help support St. Michael’s Episcopal Day School by visiting the book sale. Dozens of volunteers from our church and preschool will be on hand to help out at this event.
